In May 2024 you’ll get to elect the Mayor of the new, expanded, North East Mayoral Combined Authority covering an area from Berwick to Barnard Castle. I’m standing in that election as an independent candidate who’ll put region before party.

I’m holding meetings across the region so you can meet me in person and ask me questions. I’ll explain my vision for an integrated Total Transport Network, a Green New Deal for our local businesses and economy, and how we get a decent job for everyone. Decide for yourself if my plans make sense.

I’ve been North of Tyne Metro Mayor since 2019. In my manifesto I promised to unite the North and South of our region so we can control our own transport system. I’ve fulfilled that promise and landed £4.3 billion of investment for us – it’s about time the North East got our fair share.

This is a public meeting. We don’t have control over any attendee taking photographs or video and posting them on social media. We will also be taking some photographs and video at the meeting. Whilst we can try to accommodate you outside of the main audience, we cannot guarantee you won’t be visible on a social media post.

No public money is being spent on this event. All funds come from crowdfunding. 6,100 people have donated to my grassroots campaign. Public meetings are an important part of my campaign to become the North East Mayor. I’m aiming to visit every main population centre in the North East Mayoral region and leaflet around each one. Every penny of our campaign funds will be essential to do that. So if you’ve already donated, thank you.
