Community Wealth Building
Keep Money in Our Region
- Level the playing field for small businesses to win public sector work
- Support worker-owned businesses
- Set up a People’s Bank to invest in local businesses
- Boost wages and provide secure jobs
Green Industrial Revolution
Declare a Climate Emergency
- Create a community owned green energy company
- Tackle food waste and food poverty
- Improve bus and rail services including joint ticketing
- Create an innovation hub to support the low-carbon economy
Set Up Community Hubs
Revitalise Local Life
- Turn underused public buildings into community hubs
- Run public services and adult education courses in local places
- Provide high speed broadband, office and workshop space
- Serve as a venue for community and youth activities
Build Affordable Homes
Secure Places to Live
- Build co-operative social housing that can’t be privatised
- Build affordable homes for sale with proper local amenities
- Constructed to high eco-friendly standards with built-in solar panels
- Plant trees and provide green spaces
Meaningful Adult Education
Lifelong Learning
- Tailored to job chances, life opportunities and cultural life
- Run training on setting up community projects and co-operatives
- Work with industry, schools, colleges and universities to provide careers advice
- Provide world-class environmental education
